Jason Moon

Jason Moon was a Fellow in 2023. He will be performing with OMF on Saturday, August 8 during the first weekeend celebration of ten years of the Fellowship.

Jason Moon, a violinist from U.S.A., is an emerging artist who draws inspiration from everything between Fritz Kreisler and Queen. He is currently an Artist Diploma candidate at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, where he also earned his Master of Music under Martin Beaver. A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, he completed his Bachelor of Music at the Juilliard School with Li Lin and previously studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College under Wei He. He has won numerous awards, including the 2024 Frances Rosen Violin Prize from Colburn, the Hellam Young Artists’ Competition and the Ronald Sachs International Music Competition, and has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the San Francisco Symphony and Colburn Orchestra. He is also an avid chamber musician, having collaborated with Gidon Kremer, Lawrence Power and Ani Kavafian, and has pursued historically informed performance, studied baroque violin and performed with Juilliard415 and the Colburn Baroque Ensemble. He has also appeared at major summer festivals, including Music@Menlo, Taos School of Music, and Kronberg Academy’s Chamber Music Connects the World.
