We can’t wait to introduce you to our talented young artists—violinist Coco Mi of Princeton, New Jersey, currently pursuing her master’s degree from the Juilliard School; violinist and Seattle native Evan Johanson, finishing his master’s degree from the Yale School of Music; violist Luther Warren of Boston, a graduate of the New England Conservatory, where he received mentorship from Donald Weilerstein and Miriam Fried; and cellist Annie Hyung of Boston, who is studying with Laurence Lesser at the New England Conservatory as a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship.

2024 Mentoring Artists

Junior Fellows Program

The Olympic Music Festival embarks on new educational initiatives! Our Junior Fellowship brings together the highly gifted participants of our Olympic Chamber Music Fellowship with talented local high school musicians!

Music students residing on the Olympic Peninsula are pared with OMF Fellows for an immersive learning experience, including exclusive access to closed-door rehearsals and free tickets to weekend concerts.

The students also participate in a masterclass—OMF Fellows guide Jr. Fellows and learn how music comes to life in the practice room, with additional input from OMF Mentors.

Open Rehearsals for Students

This summer, middle and high school students across the Olympic Peninsula attended an exclusive dress rehearsal. Invited by world-famous violinist Ray Chen and OMF artistic director and pianist Julio Elizalde, students observed the process and preparation of music for the Olympic Music Festival’s Season Finale!

Ninety-two people enjoyed this special event. Ray Chen and Julio Elizalde made time between rehearsals and concerts to offer an informal question and answer session for open rehearsal attendees. Students gathered before the concert to opt in to a group photo with Ray and Julio before the OMF Season Finale (pictured below). Thank you to all who were able to attend!
